英國國家犯罪局（National Crime Agency）7月25日宣布，一名19歲南蘇丹籍男子Chan Mathok Atak遭控於7月23日（週四）駕駛小船，從法國越過英吉利海峽偷渡至英國，罪名是「在海上前往英國途中危害他人」（endangering another during a journey by sea to the UK）。（National Crime Agency）

單艇165人創新高，船長堪比一輛公車
這艘船被媒體稱為「巨型橡皮艇」（mega dinghy），估計長約13公尺（42英尺），與一輛標準雙層公車的長度相當。船上估計載有165人，創下今年單艇載客人數新高，超越7月稍早才創下的128人紀錄。（Chester and District Standard）
英國內政部資料顯示，事發當天天氣溫暖晴朗、海況平靜，總計有366人分乘三艘小船抵達英國。（Lynn News）
已還押候審，週一出庭
Atak目前已被還押候審，預計7月27日（週一）在肯特郡馬蓋特治安法院（Margate Magistrates’ Court）出庭應訊。（Enfield Independent）
今年至今已有13,007人以小船方式偷渡抵達英國，較去年同期下降45%，不過這項年度統計會隨本次事件的最新載客紀錄而上修。（Chester and District Standard）
慈善機構質疑邊境政策方向
難民援助慈善機構Care4Calais的營運部門負責人對此案背後的邊境政策提出批評，表示英法兩國政府多年來把重心放在邊境安全部署上，結果卻是讓海峽偷渡的過程變得更加危險。（Chester and District Standard）
